Working at Keystone IEA Ltd

My journey as an apprentice at Keystone IEA started back in November 2015 when I was 18 years old. Before I started I had just completed 2 years studying Double Business Management & Enterprise at Felixstowe Academy Sixth Form.

I expected to enjoy being an estate agent as it is a “people industry” therefore, you need to be good with people from all walks of life and I have always enjoyed building rapport with new people. Estate Agency is a dynamic, fast moving industry which requires a high degree of commitment and drive. This was attractive to me because I like to be kept on my toes and working towards specific goals.

One of the reasons I enjoy being an estate agent is that I get to face new challenges everyday with the variety this job brings. I am responsible for managing rental properties on behalf of our clients (The Landlord). I will market properties, select tenants, write up tenancy agreements and respond to requests by tenants such as dealing with any repairs.

I like the fact I get to train on the job and work towards industry qualifications. I am currently half way through my NVQ Residential Lettings & Property Management Level 2 course. Then once I have completed this I will move straight onto the level 3 course. These qualifications will help me to progress further within the industry.

Keystone IEA Ltd is one of Ipswich’s leading independent estate agents so it’s good that I get to work with the owners & directors of the business every day to get real one to one development and experience which I would not get at a corporate agency. This in turn reflects on how the business is run and makes a real difference in how we treat all our clients on a daily basis.
